Happy Easter!

Every Easter, we head to Van Buren to spend the weekend with family. GoGo was already set up for us when we arrived with egg dye ready to go!

Andrew's 2nd birthday party!

It is hard to believe that Andrew turned 2 this week! He was really excited about his birthday this year! He kept saying, "cake cake!" and "PARTY!" So cute!

This past Tuesday on his actual birthday (April 13th), we celebrated with a birthday cake after dinner!

And no, he did not eat the whole cake. ;) We all split it and still had a little leftover for some late night snacks this week!

Saturday, we had his 2nd birthday party at our house! The theme was "Two Two Train"! I thought it was so cute and since he loves "choo choos" it would be perfect for his party!

Girls Weekend in Tulsa!

Thanks to Jim feeling better after his surgery and Pops and GoGo for helping with the boys, I was still able to go on our annual weekend trip to Tulsa this year!

We celebrated Mischelyn and Melinda's birthday!
Lunch at at the Wild Fork at Utica Square followed by some shopping and spa treatments!

We had dinner at Yokozuna and it was delicious!

After dinner, Dara, Mischelyn and Melinda headed back to the hotel. But Susan and I were up for checking out the Mayo Hotel (recommended by Jim's brother John), not too far from where we were staying.

At the Mayo Hotel lobby. This hotel dates back to the 1920s and was recently renovated to be a hip downtown boutique hotel.

The Mayo had a penthouse bar on the rooftop. It was a beautiful night for people watching and enjoying the warm weather outside!

Sunday, we enjoyed a nice, leisurely breakfast on the hotel's patio then hit up one of my favorite stores, Ross, for some good deals before heading home!
Thanks ladies for another great weekend trip to Tulsa! Can't wait until next year!

Appendix adventure...

Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. We had an unexpected "bump" in the road last week. Jim was having some abdominal pain last Wednesday evening. It worsened on Thursday morning so I took him to the ER. Andrew came along too. ;) After a CT scan of his abdomen, the doctor said he needed emergency surgery to remove his appendix. By 11:30 that morning, Jim was rolled back for surgery and we were sent home from the hospital that afternoon. Jim's surgery went well and he was feeling much better when we got home. He was able to get around just fine but was restricted from lifting anything over 25lbs. (that means no lifting Andrew who now weighs 26lbs.)
Jim had his follow-up appointment with the surgeon this morning, and he released him for full activity. Even golf! So Jim is excited to join his buddies this evening out on the course. ;)
Thanks to everyone for being there for us last week--especially Pops and GoGo who helped watch the boys, Elise for sitting with me at the hospital while Jim was in surgery and all my many friends for the prayers!
