This month Jim and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary! September 23, 2000 marked the day I married my best friend and the most wonderful guy in the world!
To celebrate this year, we went to Vegas for a long weekend getaway!
We booked a three night stay at the fabulous Paris Las Vegas!
Right across the street from the Bellagio!
Our first night, we headed to the MGM Grand for dinner at FiAMMA, a wonderful Italian restaurant with great people watching! It was right along the Grand Walkway. We had so much fun doing a "Date Night" rendition of Steve Carell and Tina Fey when they made up things people around them were doing and saying. HAHA!
After dinner, we went to see the Cirque de Soiel show KA'
The theater itself was amazing to walk into but when the show started and the stage began to move...all you could say was WOW! The performers and the stage was AMAZING!
I highly recommend seeing it!
The I HEART Radio Music Festival was going on while we were there! Even though we did not get tickets (cheapest were $500 per ticket!!) we really enjoyed seeing all the camera crews and concert coordinators running around getting ready for it. Lots of secret limos pulling into the side entrances, etc. We did get to meet the wardrobe coordinator for Jennifer Lopez! She played a few rounds of craps with us at MGM. ;)
The next morning, I woke up very early (darn internal clock). So I headed to the Paris Las Vegas Spa for a relaxing spa package---lime and ginger salt scrub, massage and coconut body wrap.
SOOOO relaxing and my skin has truly never felt so soft!
We got ready and headed to lunch at Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's restaurant) at Caesars Palace.
We had the "Mesa Burgers and fries" and they were yummy! Great Southwest flavor!
We then caught a cab down to the Pawn Stars Pawn Shop!
The place looked just like it did on TV. We even got to see the Old Man's car parked in the parking lot...
The inside of the pawn shop. Honestly, we were a bit disappointed in the place. There was not a lot of neat things to look at. They were mostly selling t-shirts and bobble heads of themselves. Oh well, can't blame them for trying to get every penny they can while they have this TV gig. ;)
We headed back to the hotel to relax and get ready for our dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant!

Nothing like a spectacular view, delicious dinner and a good bottle of wine!

I had been keeping up with some of the celebrity "after party" locations after the concert.
I thought it would be fun to try to get into one. Several people told us to check out TAO Nightclub at the top of the Venetian. So we saw went there and saw Jay-Z was hosting his after party there and it was the 1,000 Night of TAO. After many velvet ropes, mixing in with the crowds and passing by several security peeps, we made our way to the rooftop TAO Club!
The weather and views at night could not have been better. Jim and I settled into a poolside cabana table with free drinks on Jay-Z's tab. Nice.
The music and atmosphere were so fun but we headed back after midnight (2am our time). We were too old to party like rockstars. ;)
Saturday morning, we headed to Mandalay Bay to attend the Barrett Jackson Classic Car Show and Auto Auction!
This is something I have ALWAYS wanted to go to! Jim and I watch the SPEED channel a few times a year to see the auctions live on TV. So awesome to be there in person!
I posted just a few pics of cars because I literally took over 100 car pics! Yeah, I was in car heaven! We spent most of the day at the auction, and only took a break for lunch to watch the first half of the Arkansas vs. Alabama game (not pretty). We will definitely have to go back when it's time to buy my mid life crisis vehicle. ;)
Saturday night, we decided to head over to Caesars Palace because we heard Bobby Flay was going to be making an appearance at the Colosseum to sign copies of his new cookbook. When Jim and I went to check out the line, it wasn't too bad. So I wanted to get one for my friend Susan, an amazing chef herself. ;)
While we were in line, we watched the camera crew film a piece with Bobby Flay talking about his cookbook and his restaurants. Then his PR people were scanning the crowd and the line (probably 150 or more people) and they walked over to me and Jim. They asked if we would like to have our picture professionally taken with Bobby Flay for their Caesars Palace magazine. Uh, YEAH! We even signed release papers for the photos and the lady got my info. She said she would email the picture to us and mail us a copy of the magazine!
SWEET! So they also took a pic with my phone...
Its a little fuzzy because of it being on my phone so I look forward to seeing the professional one someday. ;)
We topped off our exciting weekend with celebrities (haha) with a wonderful dinner at a Seafood restauarant in Caesars (I can't even remember the name---we were just lucky to find a place that could seat us right away). It was delicious! We didn't stay out too late that night since our flight departed at 6:40am the next morning.
Jim and I had a fabulous anniversary trip to Vegas! It had been 10 years since we had been to Vegas together (we went back in 2001 to celebrate his brother John's 21st birthday). Hopefully, we won't wait another 10 years to go back!
Thanks again to Pops and GoGo for watching the boys for us! They had a great time too!
