La Fu So!

Last Friday, I joined my friend Jennifer down at the AMP (Arkansas Music Pavilion) in Fayetteville. Her husband Chad just joined a new band called "La Fu So". It stands for a mix of latin, funk and soul. They were awesome!

It was also Jenn and Chad's 16th wedding anniversary! Congratulations you guys!

La Fu So is playing tonight at Rogue on Dickson St and next Thursday at Powerhouse. If you can, you should go see them!

Kindergarten Graduation!

Christian graduated from Kindergarten last night. What a wonderful celebration it was!
I had mixed emotions about it all, sad that my big boy is growing so fast but SO happy that he LOVES school and is doing so well and is so excited about going to 1st grade. Looking at this graduation cap and gown picture, I think he looks like a high school graduate!

I hosted a graduation party yesterday afternoon for family and neighbors. It was a great time!
I fixed all of Christian's favorite foods...chicken nuggets, chips, fruit, strawberry cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate chip cookies!

Christian received several cards and thoughtful gifts that he was SO excited about!

This morning, Christian said, "I got a lot of money. I think I will keep it until I need something....like a new toy."

Christian's graduation was held at Bentonville's Arend Arts Center on the Bentonville High School campus. All the kindergarten classes sang songs and received their graduation certificates!

We were so happy to have Pops and GoGo, Grandmother and Uncle Will join us for the celebration. Thanks to all of our family and friends for the congratulations wishes for Christian!

Welcome to the 60s!!!

Saturday night, I took Christian to a KidsWorks show at the Rogers Little Theater. Hope was performing in this one so we had to see it! "Welcome to the 60s" was a musical performance of area kids singing and dancing to songs of the sixties. Christian LOVED it!

Hope sang a solo wearing a double afro wig! Christian loved seeing "Aunt Bopie" sing!!!

After the performance, the kids in the audience were invited on the stage to sing and dance around. He LOVED it!

Puppy Dog Roundup!

Last Friday, Christian's Kindergarten class performed in front of the school during their morning "Round Up" (assembly) time. Above is Christian wearing his puppy dog hat (though I think it looks a bit more like a hammer head shark than a dog).

Andrew has literally become the SWEETEST baby! Now that his teething has passed, he is in a MUCH better mood all the time! He just smiles, plays and loves to dance! He also loves to "read" his books.

Whenever he does something and I say "Good job!" he will clap for himself.

Swagger Wagon...

OK, I just saw this video on one of my favorite blogs and had to share it on mine too.
Though I always told myself I would never drive a minivan, this makes me feel like I could still be cool if I got one. haha! Seriously, this is an actually video done by the people in the Toyota Sienna commericals and it is a huge hit on YouTube right now. Take just a couple minutes and enjoy this hip hop mix that will make any parent laugh out loud!

Mother's Day activities...

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! It was so special since it was my first Mother's Day with Andrew...first Mother's Day with two boys. ;)

We had Mother's Day brunch at Crabby's with Jim's family.
GoGo gave me some beautiful flowers from her yard.

After lunch, Christian and I had some special time together (while Andrew napped) and we headed to the Spanker Creek craft fair.

I got the sweetest cards from my boys (and Jim!). They got me "Pretty" perfume and a gift certificate for two massages! LOVE MY BOYS! Jim even heated up leftover pizza for me for dinner and made me a margarita! What a guy! I feel so blessed to me a mommy!!! I could not imagine my life without my boys! What a fun day!

For Mother's Day, I wanted to get pictures made with my sweet boys. Legacy House offers a special "Mommy and Me" photo session and the boys did great! There were several great pictures but here are just a few of my favorites!

CUMC Women's Gala!

Friday night, I attended our annual Women's Gala at church. It is a table toppers event with a silent auction, dinner, music and a guest speaker. Proceeds benefit our children and youth ministries. There are always so many wonderful items donated for the event and it is so fun bidding on all the items!

I always sit with a few of my friends from my Mom's Ministry class and we have a wonderful time! This year, we sat at Tracy and Karen's table with a nautical theme.

Shower for ABC!

Last Saturday, I got to spend the afternoon with a lovely group of ladies to celebrate the upcoming birth of Annie Beth Cornett (ABC!)

The shower was at MiMi's Cafe and Rachel got so many wonderful gifts for Annie Beth!
Afterwards, Jim and I headed to the annual trade desk deck party hosted by Jamie and Rachel.
It was a great time--eating burgers, hot dogs, chips, dips and wonderful desserts. I was so busy enjoying myself that I did not take one single picture that evening. ;) Thanks to Jamie and Rachel for hosting the cookout! I can't wait to meet little Annie Beth in just a couple weeks!

GoGo and Grandmother's Birthday celebration!

Sunday, we drove to Van Buren to celebrate GoGo and Grandmother's birthdays!
Lots of Jim's family came to town to have lunch and all the cousins played outside together!
