Busy days!

Even though Andrew is just 2 weeks old, it has not slowed us down! :)

On Sunday, Aunt Kimberly and Uncle Wrenn came to stay with us. Uncle Wrenn met Andrew for the first time!


On Monday, we spent the day at home relaxing. My friend Misty brought dinner to us that night! Thanks to all my friends from bible study who have brought us dinner so far...Katherine, Ama, Jenn D, and Misty! The meals have been amazing! Jim has asked that I get all of your recipes...I feel I need to step up my cooking a notch. ;)

Today, our friend Nora brought us lunch and prepared beautiful dishes of chicken salad and dessert! We so enjoyed our visit with you Nora! And Andrew loved having Nora hold him...

After lunch and his nap, we took Andrew to meet all of my friends and co-workers at ARVEST Asset Management. Everyone was excited to meet him and he slept away as he was passed around. :)

After our visit to my office, we headed home for Andrew to eat then headed off to take him to his first "Taco Tuesday" at Metfield Clubhouse! He was bright eyed and quiet, watching all the activity...

and then went to sleep. What a sweet baby!

One more thing...Christian drew me some pictures in the bath tub with his tub markers. I told him I loved them and would put them on the blog to share.

Andrew had his first check-up with his pediatrician this past Monday. At one week old, he weighed 8lbs 4 oz (his original birth weight), which is great. Babies usually lose weight their first week but he already gained it back. He also grew 3/4 of an inch!

Later that day, we received tragic news that Jim's grandad, Robert A. Sharum, had a heart attack and passed away suddenly. We were so looking forward to him meeting our little Andrew Robert, but we know he is in a better place with our Lord above.

We packed up and headed to Van Buren on Wednesday for the rosary Wednesday night and funeral on Thursday. The service was beautiful and so touching. We all got to visit with Jim's family and they all got to meet Andrew and see what a great big brother Christian is. :)

After the funeral, Christian went to Tulsa with Pops and GoGo to attend Jim's cousin Caroline's wedding on Saturday. The wedding festivities began with a dinner on Thursday night, a Western themed rehersal dinner Friday night and wedding on Saturday night. During the day on Saturday, Christian got to go to the Tulsa Aquarium!

On Friday, Hope came over and got to meet Andrew for the first time! She had been sick and wanted to stay away until she was over her cold. Andrew already loves his "Aunt Bopie"!


So Jim and I had another weekend on our own with Andrew. We took him on his first trip to Wal-Mart on Friday. He slept through the whole thing! I got a pedicure while Jim did the shopping! Jim also drove us around to some garage sales Saturday morning and he washed and waxed my car too! What a great husband! :)

I tried taking some pictures of Andrew for his birth announcements, but he either looks scared, surprised and sticking his tongue out in most of them...



but I will keep trying! I plan to take a lot of pictures this week! :)

Our first weekend with Andrew...

This weekend Christian went to stay with Pops and GoGo, while Jim and I got to spend a weekend on our own with Andrew. Andrew so far is the best baby. To me, he looks just like Christian did when he was a baby. He sleeps and eats well.
He loves to focus on his mom and dad's faces. :)

On Saturday, we had our first outing. I needed to go to Motherhood Maternity to get some nursing wear so we went for a drive and Andrew enjoyed it!



We had friends, family and neighbors come by to meet Andrew. My friends Dara, Allison and Kellie brought us dinner Sunday night.

They started the c-section and at 7:30 and he was born 9 minutes later! Now
THAT'S the way to have a baby! ;)

We had a few friends come by the hospital to visit. Jeremi brought flowers, toys for Andrew, cigar for Jim and chocolates for me!

On our way home! We stayed 2 nights in the hospital and I am recovering much quicker than expected!


Andrew once he arrived home. He is wearing the same outfit Jim wore when his mom brought him home from the hospital. Christian wore it too.

Sleeping away in his bassinet! The first few days home have been great, he is sleeping well and eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. He has the biggest blue eyes and dimples too! Just like Christian and his mommy! We just love holding him (and so does his big brother!) Thanks to everyone for the well wishes! More pictures to come!
