Kindergarten Fall party!

Thursday was Christian's fall party in his classroom. Parents were invited to attend so I wanted to be there for his first official school party!

They had different tables with activities--making spiders and bats out of egg cartons, making your own sugar cookie, pin the face on the pumpkin and leaf rubbings. The kids rotated from one table to the next getting to participate in all of them!

Red Ribbon Week!

This week was Red Ribbon Week at Christian's school. They teach the kiddos about not doing drugs. (Though I don't think Christian even knows what drugs are, but whatevs)

Spirit days for that week are as follows:

Monday: Team up against drugs.
Wear favorite team shirt.

Christian wearing his Razorback t-shirt and calling the Hogs! WoooPigSooie!

Tuesday: Tie down drugs.
Wear a tie.


Wednesday: Sneak out on drugs.
Wear camo.

Sorry, I forgot to take a picture that day. He does not really have any "camo" gear so he just wore a shirt that says "Big Brother" in camo lettering. And yes, he looked cute. ;)

Thursday: Drugs Aarrgh Bad
Dress like a pirate.

OK..by this point of the week, he was getting tired on me taking his picture before he left for school each morning. Thus, the rolling of the eyes. ;) His costume this year is a pirate outfit but I did not have him wear it to school since he had to wear it Friday night to his Fall Festival, a Halloween party on Sat, and then of course trick or treating Saturday night. So he wore a shirt that had a pirate ship on it. Close enough.

Friday: Read a book, don’t do drugs.
Dress like your favorite book character

OK, I dropped the ball on taking a picture this morning too. But Andrew woke up fussing a couple times during the night and then woke up at 5am so my morning was a bit rough. I was lucky to get dressed to take Christian to school.....wait, I just wore my jammies. ;)
Anyway, that one was kinda hard, so he had a shirt with a train car on it and one of his favorite books is "Katy the Caboose" so that's what we said was on his shirt. It worked.

Glad to be back to wearing whatever we want next week! Ha!

Bathtime!

Andrew has gotten too big to take a bath in the kitchen sink, so he is now in his bath seat in Christian's bathtub. The boys had their first bath together over the weekend! It was so fun watching them splash around together!

6 month checkup!

Andrew had his six month checkup yesterday! He is doing so well! He has been sitting up on his own for over a month and started crawling last week! (I will post a video soon!)

Andrew weighed 17 lbs. 8.3 oz. and was 26.5 inches tall!

He is doing great with baby food. We have done all the 1st food vegetables and have moved onto fruits. He REALLY loves pears! He has still been taking a bottle every 3 hours then eats three times a day. Dr. Hill said I should try to stretch out his bottle feedings to 4 hours since he is now eating food. I did that yesterday and he did fine. He only naps a hour or so in the morning and 1 1/2 to 2 hours mid-day. Since we have to leave the house to pick up Christian from school, getting a long afternoon nap is just not in the cards for us right now. ;)
He goes to bed at 6pm (just like Christian did!) and he wakes for a bottle around 9-10pm. He will sleep until 5:30 or 6am the next morning.

Andrew is also jabbering ALOT! When you say "dada", he will look at Jim. When you say "mama" he will look at me. He is so smart!

We go get our shots this morning! So glad I don't have to do that again until he is a year!

Riverdance!

Saturday night, Hope and I went to go see Riverdance at the Walton Arts Center.
It was the farewell tour of the show. I had seen it several years ago but still enjoyed the dancing and especially the music. I actually dig Irish music!

High Heels High Hopes!

This past Saturday night, me and my gal pals attended the High Heels High Hopes fashion show.
The proceeds benefited Arkansas Children's Hospital. They had a silent auction, diamond giveaway and the fashion show was put on by Maude, a boutique in Fayetteville. We had dinner beforehand at Powerhouse, then headed to our VIP seating with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Yum!

Firehouses, Crazy Socks and Pumpkin Patches

Christian has REALLY been enjoying kindergarten. He is learning SO much but also having a lot of fun. His teacher posted some pictures of their recent adventures....field trip to the firehouse and pumpkin patch!They also had a "crazy sock day". For a dollar donation to the United Way, they could wear crazy socks to school.

The kids went to the fire station to learn about fire safety. The firemen even taught the kids to climb out of a window of a house when there is smoke! (A pretend house with pretend smoke, but Christian still thought it was cool). :)

The school sponsored a pumpkin patch last week! All the kiddos got to play in the corn, hay and take a pumpkin home!

6 months old!

Today Andrew is 6 months old!

He has been sitting up on his own since 5 months and is very close to crawling already! I can't believe it! We started feeding Andrew baby food and have done green beans and carrots so far. He really seems to enjoy his vegetables. I forgot what a MESS it is though! I have been using lots of Zout Oxy Clean to keep his clothes stain free. ;) Ha! My washing machine is literally running all the time!

He has grown in two full teeth on the bottom (at 4 months) and his first top front tooth has broken through this week. The one next to it is soon to follow!

Go Fish!

Christian LOVES to play games! And so do I! Seriously! I love card games, board games, etc. Growing up an only child, I rarely had anyone who played games with me, so I would get so excited when I stayed with my grandma and got to play cards with her or tag along on "card night" with her friends.

This past weekend was a nice and relaxing weekend at our house. No big plans, just watching the Hogs beat Auburn! Woohoo! So we played some Go Fish!

Baby food!

Andrew will be 6 months old in just a few days, so we decided to give him his first taste of baby food this morning! We decided to start with green beans. Pediatricians recommend starting with vegetables then to fruits. So Andrew had green beans for breakfast! Yum!

Happy 60th Birthday Pops!

Yesterday Christian was out of school for teacher in service day, so we drove down to Van Buren to wish Pops a Happy Birthday! We were able to enjoy a birthday breakfast with Pops and GoGo!

New Family Photos!

Legacy House Photography recently did "Pictures in the Park" at Tanyard Creek this year. The session only cost $35! I take Andrew there for their Baby Club program, which is where he gets his picture made once a month his first year. It is only $10 a month and you get a free 8x10 each time! A very affordable way to keep up with those early changes in that first year. Plus they have lots of fun backgrounds and props too. Playing at the park!

This past weekend, Jim played golf. LOTS of golf...18 holes Thursday, 18 holes Friday, 36 holes Saturday and 18 on Sunday in a tournament with some golf buddies. The weather was great so I decided to spend the entire Saturday outdoors with the boys!

We went to the Bentonville Farmer's Market for the first time! It was smaller than the Fayetteville one but still had lots of variety. I brought a blanket for us to have a picnic on the Bentonville square while we watched all the people walking around the Farmer's Market.

I am so glad we got to spend the whole day enjoying the outdoors since it has already turned cold and rainy this week! Fall has officially arrived!

Jim was off work today. He received a day and a half off for extra time put in during a recent project at work. So he decided to spend the entire time golfing. But he did spend some time playing and snuggling with Andrew this morning.
