First Grade Musical

It is hard to believe that Christian's first grade year is coming to an end. It seems like just yesterday we were preparing for Kindergarten. He has really had a great year!
This past week, the first graders of Cooper Elementary put on a musical.

It was a lot of fun seeing my big boy on stage!

Mother's Day 2011

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year! We meet our family at Crabby's for their special Mother's Day brunch. Somehow, I did not take a single picture of us all looking nice and the family together for lunch. Oh well, I guess I was too busy enjoying my special day!

Jim got me new bath robe I had been wanting along with a gift card to my spa! :)

The boys got me the "Brothers" figurine from the Willow Tree collection. I really love it and each time I look at it I think of my sweet boys. :)

The temperature on Mother's Day was almost 90 degrees! It was so hot!
Christian and I went down to the Spanker Creek Craft Fair and walked around. But we got so hot so quick, Christian wanted to go play in the creek. We took off our shoes and enjoyed the cool water along with lots of other kiddos. ;) Christian played with one of his cars in the creek while I sat in the shade watching him play and enjoyed the beautiful day!

When Andrew woke from his nap, we decided to put on our swimsuits and play in the water!
It was that hot!

Jim cooked sirloin burgers for us that night! So yummy! Then we made a "Blizzard run" to the DQ for some ice cream that night in our jammies!

Christian gave me some chocolate, a pen with a blue flower out of duck tape, and coupons good for the following tasks: "drive you somewhere", "Check the mail", "fix your car" and "clean up". He told me that I may have to wait until he is a teenagers to use a couple of them. HAHA!

Above is an "info sheet" he filled out about me. He got most of it correct but not so sure about #5. ;)

My favorite part of Mother's Day was just being with my family! I am so blessed to have the sweetest boys in the world!

2011 Women's Gala

Our church hosts a women's dinner, entertainment and silent auction fundraiser each year. The proceeds go towards our children's ministries and youth mission work. The fun part is that it is a "table toppers" event, where a person decorates each table with a theme. This year was my first year to sign up to decorate a table. Along with Mandy Boyett, we decided on the theme "On Broadway" and used all our Playbills and NYC stuff. It was a lot of fun!


I made these custom Playbills that featured the Tony Awards listing each person's name as the name place card!





Our centerpiece was a glass vase filled with apples for "The Big Apple" and my New York sign and lighted branches with crystals.

There were 19 tables at the gala and we raised $5,220 that night! WOW!

Welcome Edie Rose...

Saturday afternoon I hosted a diaper shower for a friend of mine from high school, Tasha. Her and her husband Wes live down in Little Rock and have one little girl, Violet and another girl, Edie on the way!

Thomas the Train LIVE!

This past weekend, Jim and I took the boys to see Thomas the Train LIVE! at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville.

Even Pops and GoGo came up to join us!

Andrew LOVED the show! He kept saying "choo choo" and chugging his arm up and down! Too cute! Christian sat with his buddy Pops and I think they had a great time watching the show together!

Christian signed up for baseball again this spring! He really seemed to enjoy playing tee ball last year. This year he is in the machine pitch league for 6 and 7 year olds. He plays for the Mets!

He is #5!

Christian plays 2nd or third base, even a little short stop since he can grab ground balls pretty quickly. He even played catcher at his 2nd game...

He has only played two games and the weather was so cool outside. With all the rain, we have had most of our practices and games cancelled. Hope he gets to play at least a few more before the season is over! ;)

Rain Rain GO AWAY!

This past week Arkansas has been hit hard with heavy rains and lots of flooding. We have gotten over a foot of rain in just a few days! We also were under several tornado watches and severe storm warnings. We had one morning where we woke up with no electricity AND no water. We were under a boil order all last week. Many of our local county roads flooded too.

Here is a picture of Spanker Road (a road I travel daily) that the creek got so high it covered the bridge...

This picture was taken by Jim's co-worker (not me). Needless to say, we had to go another route home for a couple days. And as I type this entry, we are still getting rainy weather.

This is Veterans Park in Bella Vista. I took the boys down there over Spring Break (you can see in earlier posts) and the water is almost halfway up those walls!
Hope the sun comes out soon!

All I want for Christmas is...

my two front teeth!!!!

Christian lost his other front top tooth a couple weeks ago! I had to make sure this BIG news made it to the blog! :)
