"Mom and Christian Fun Days!"

Our Mother's Day Out program ended for the summer at our church in July. So I found myself with no MDO until after Labor Day! A hard thing to face with a very demanding 15 month old.
After checking with other MDO programs, I found one that had openings for one day a week until September 1st. Yeah for me! This gave me a day to be able to spend some one on one time with Christian. So the past few Wednesdays have been deemed "Mom and Christian Fun Days"!

We have been able to do lots of fun things together each week, and I can get other errands done too that I could not do with Andrew in tow.

We went bowling...

Ate ice cream...

Rode the train at Pinnacle Promenade...

Ate more ice cream...

and went to the movies!

We even got our school supply shopping done! School starts next week for us! I can't believe summer is almost over! I will miss watching the boys play all day together. Andrew is REALLY going to miss Christian. I am starting back to work part time after Labor Day and Andrew will be in MDO three days a week so he will have a few other kiddos to play with. ;)
I will miss "Mom and Christian fun day!" Hopefully, we can make that arrangement next summer! :)

Update on Baby Robert

He has been admitted back to the hospital in the NICU. While at home with Kimberly, his lips turned blue and they rushed him to the hospital. He has premature infant apnea, where when a baby is premature and their heart rate drops on occasion which causes their oxygen levels to drop too. Luckily, it is not too serious. These episodes just last seconds. It just takes longer for preemies hearts and lungs to get stronger. The doctors say he will have to go without an "episode" for five days before he can go home. Eventually, he will just grow out of it and be fine. We all know that being in the hospital and being supervised by medical staff during these episodes is best, but hard on Kimberly and Wrenn. We are praying that Robert grows stronger and stronger each day. He is doing well. He is gaining weight and feeding well. I ask that you please pray for Robert's strength to continue growing and also prayers for Kimberly and Wrenn as they struggle with the stress of having Robert in the hospital, lack of sleep and just wanting their baby at home. Thank you!

Garage Sales!

Last Friday Christian, Andrew and I went to a few garage sales. We had not been since the spring and I thought it would be fun to see if we could find some new toys for my boys.

We hit a sale in the very nice subdivision of Glenbrook and got all this stuff for $3!

The Irish beads were for my St. Patricks Day decor. And Andrew got a Woody doll that as soon as I washed it, it became a teething chew toy...

Baby Shower Blessings!

This morning, I hosted a baby shower for Kari Young and Natalie Russell with our Mom's Ministry bible study group. It was so fun to see everyone together again this morning! I really miss these ladies when we are out for the summer break!
Kari and Natalie received so many cute gifts for their boys! Kari is going to be induced on August 26th to have Austin. Natalie will probably be induced just a couple days later to have Collier. We are praying for smooth deliveries for them and can't to meet these sweet baby boys!

Welcome Robert Wrenn Wooten!

Monday morning, I am awaken by a text from Kimberly saying her water broke at 1:30am and

she is in labor! WOW! Being that Kimberly was due September 1st, it was quite a surprise! She was having high blood pressure and was put on bedrest in the hospital until he was born. So luckily, she was already at the hospital and ready to go!

Christian and I drove to Plano, TX so we could be there when he was born.
We arrived just in time!


Kim had progressed to a 9 and things were moving along in her labor. Christian went to hang out with Pops in the waiting room while GoGo and I stayed with Kimberly and Wrenn in the labor and delivery room. Kimberly was AWESOME! She stayed calm and pushed like a pro!
After 1 and 47 minutes of pushing, Robert Wrenn Wooten was born!

Robert weighed 6 lbs. and was 19 inches long! Thought he was 4 weeks early, he had excellent stats and his lungs were good!

Isn't he the cutest baby!!! And so alert!!!
Kimberly said she did not want me to post a pic to Facebook yet, but she did not say I couldn't to my blog! (wink, wink!) I am just a VERY proud aunt!

Though we did not get to hold him, (he was being monitored by the NICU nurses just making sure he keeps a good temperature and good stats-so far so good!), we plan to head back to Texas in a few weeks for Labor Day to spend some time visiting with the new family! ;)
