Thankful!

I can't begin to tell you about how hard the past few weeks have been here at the Hopkins Household. Christian got a stomach bug, then bronchitis. Andrew got the stomach bug...and next...bronchitis. Jim and I felt worn out and fought off sore throats for a several days. But this weekend, I went to the doctor feeling AWFUL with high fever and sore throat. Diagnosis: strep throat. After a different meds and another trip to the dr. that included a painful shot in the arse, I am FINALLY on the mend! :)

However, my illness along with the fact that it began freezing rain in Bella Vista this morning, kept us from being with family in Van Buren for Thanksgiving today. We were sad and heartbroken to not be with all of them, but thankful to be safe at home. And lucky enough that I already had a turkey and all the fixings from Harps. ;)

AND....as I work on this blog post, I just discovered that my memory card had a "fatal" error and I just lost ALL pictures from our little Thanksgiving at home today. (HOLDING BACK TEARS!) No pics of my turkey, the icy trees, snow covered deck and driveway (yes, we had a white Thanksgiving) and REALLY sad no pics of Jim and the boys on the couch watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. (This memory card also had all my Mom's Ministry retreat pics from Branson and my trip to Tulsa with Hope to see Wicked). Yep, gone.

Well, all I can say is I am thankful to have been able to be with the ones I love the most---my husband and my sweet boys! We made memories with watching the parade and had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Even if I don't have pictures. It's about the memories.

But I do have one picture I took with my phone...

Sickness...

I know it has been over a week since my last update! When we returned from Texas, Christian had the stomach bug then bronchitis. Now, this week, Andrew is battling the same thing. Needless to say, my hands have been busy taking care of my boys! I hope to get some updates to the blog in a few days!

Robert's Baptism

This past weekend, we drove to Plano, TX for Robert's baptism!
Kimberly and Wrenn hosted a reception Saturday night at their home, then the service was Sunday morning.

Halloween fun!

Halloween fun all began on Friday. My co-workers and I dressed up as PacMan!

We even made the other side of the costumes turn blue. ;)

Friday afternoon, GoGo came up and went trick or treating with us at Jim's office, WMT ISD.

Friday evening, Jim and I took Christian to his school fall carnival! It was fun! A chili contest and lots and lots of games for Christian to play! We were so busy I did not even get a picture.

Saturday, I took the boys to get their Halloween picture made at Legacy House...they always do a no sitting fee pic and only $12 for a sheet of pics! They turned out great!

But we had a lot of fun at the house before we left...

Saturday afternoon, I went to see my friend Misha at her sister Malen's housewarming party in Rogers. Misha is moving to New Zealand at the end of the year and has been living in Seattle the past few years so I was so glad to get to see her before she left!

Saturday evening, we went to a Halloween party at Jamie and Rachel's house.
I think there were like 20 kids there! Christian had a blast!

They tried to get a group picture of all the little ones but it was almost impossible!

Sunday afternoon, we went to Chuck E Cheese with Brianna. She had to cancel her Halloween party because her parents had to fly to Michigan for a possible adoption.
Prayers for Chad and Jenn as they inquire into adopting a 20 month old little boy!

After dinner, I took Christian and Brianna trick or treating in Rogers in the Highland Knolls neighborhood. We have lots of friends from church in that neighborhood and there are lots of trick or treaters walking around!
