Date night!

This past Friday night, Jim and I had another "date night". I have really enjoyed leading a marriage study recently for my Mom's Ministry class and love that going on a date with the hubby counts as "homework". :) This particular date night, we decided to stay close to home and heading just a few miles into town and tried Petit Bistro in Bentonville. It was perfect for a quiet evening of fine dining and just relaxing. A perfect adult restaurant with amazing food and service.It is located in an old cobblestone house that is set back in the woods a bit. We almost felt like we were not in Arkansas, but somewhere we would eat on vacation in Europe. I highly recommend it.

After dinner, we headed to see a funny movie a friend recommended, "Just Go With It".
Adam Sandler AND Dave Matthews were in it, so you can't go wrong. ;)

It was the funniest movie we have seen since The Hangover. Good stuff.

Taffetas!

Last Sunday, I took my wonderful mother-in-law and Grandmother-in-law to see my friend Hope in the production of "The Taffetas" for their birthdays. Christian came along too! He had to see his "Bopie" on the stage! The show was about a 1950s singing group on the radio hoping to get a gig on the Ed Sullivan show. It was a really cute show and Hope's singing blew me away! She is so very talented and we were so glad to get to see the show and support her!
Christian loved seeing Hope sing and said, "I wish I could get up on that stage and dance with her" during the show. Too cute.

Hope (in the red sweater) was the best in the show!
Way to go Hope!!! We love you!

Dara's birthday celebration!

A few weeks ago, I met up with my gal pals to celebrate Dara's birthday! The birthday girl's choice...lunch, shopping and pedicures! Sounded great to me so I made it happen!

Dara, Susan, Allison, Jennifer and I had lunch at MiMi's and spent some time hitting a few favorite stores at the Promenade. Then we got pedicures at my nail place. It had been since Dara's wedding since she had a pedicure and it was Susan's first pedicure EVER! They were definitely due for some pampering! Jennifer and I treat ourselves to a pedicure from time to time. ;) I totally forgot to take a picture of us at lunch so we decided to snap a quick pic with my phone of our pretty toes! You know me and "feet" pics! Gotta love 'em!

Night Night!

Below is a short video taken with my iPhone of Andrew blowing kisses at bedtime and saying "night night"! Such a super sweet little man! At the end he likes to blow kisses with both hands using his fists. Silly boy!

Model Train Show!

This past Saturday, Jim and I took the boys to the Bentonville Model Train Show at the Clarion Hotel. When I read about this event, I thought "how perfect!" for my train lovin' little boys!

They had several trains displayed and even took time to let the kids operate the model trains!

Christian really loved being able to operate the trains! They even gave him a certificate as an "official model train engineer". Too cute!

They even had lots of train memorabilia and collectibles for sale. I took a picture of the old chalk board train schedule from the train station in my hometown, Van Buren, AR.

They had everything from matches, dishes, pencils to maps and old schedules and advertising for old train lines.

I was really surprised to see more grown men walking around buying train stuff than kids at this event. So many of the older men where excited to see the young boys excited about trains.
One said to me, "We gotta get these youngins' into trains!"

Andrew was one of the youngest little boys there but he had fun strolling around and pointing to all the trains and saying, "Ahhh, chooo chooos!" He even received an engineer hat for his enthusiasm. ;)

Couples Game Night!

Last night, Jim and I hosted a game night for all the ladies in my bible study group, Mom's Ministry, with their husbands. Since I am leading a marriage study ("Date Night in a Minivan) right now, I thought it would be appropriate to get everyone out for a "date night" and let everyone get to know each other better. A few of our husbands had never met each other, maybe just seen each other in passing at church. What a fun opportunity to mix and mingle! Endless Mexican food and then we played CatchPhrase and laughed until we cried!
