Girls Night In!

This past Saturday night, some of my girlfriends came over to celebrate my birthday!

Everyone brought yummy food and Susan even surprised me with a BEAUTIFUL birthday cake she made for me...

I made pretty holiday drinks....champagne with cranberries and green sugar rims! Yum!




We sat around eating LOTS of food, talked for hours and hours, watched SNL (which I have not watched in forevs) and some Dane Cook comedy. The next morning, I made a breakfast casserole and we sat by the fireplace sipping coffee and watching HGTV home shows together! It was SO fun! Thanks again ladies for wonderful gifts, food, but especially for the great company! I love you all!!!

This past Saturday morning, we celebrate Christmas with Jim's extended family down in Fort Smith. Uncle Rob and Aunt Janie always host a wonderful breakfast and gift exchange....and even Santa made an appearance! ;)

Old becomes new...

Tuesday evening, Hope came over to help me recover my kitchen table chairs. The fabric and her expertise in this project is her birthday gift to me. Thanks Hope!!!

I love my kitchen table but the fabric on the chairs is off white and after almost 9 years and some spills and stains from Christian, they needed to be recovered. I LOVE the fabric, it goes so well with the wood and it won't show stains! :) This picture does not at all do them justice...

The Rat Pack is Back!

Last night, Jim and I went to see The Rat Pack at the Walton Arts Center. It was our date night to celebrate my birthday coming up in a couple weeks. I had been looking forward to this show all year! I am a HUGE Frank Sinatra fan and love the era of Vegas when the Rat Pack was performing at the Sands. What I would give to have really been able to see them back then. ANYWAY, we enjoyed dinner at Bordino's before the show, my favorite! The show was SO good! The guy who was Frank sounded sooo much like him. Dean Martin looked the part and sounded like him too. The guy who played Sammy did not really look like him to me, but he did have all of his mannerisms down pat. The show was SO great! I even got my picture taken with the Rat Pack...

Winter Dreams Tour of Homes

I have a yearly tradition of going on the Junior League Winter Dreams Tour of Homes each year.
We always have breakfast at Uncle Gaylord's and spend the whole day on the home tour.
This year, Tasha and baby Violet joined us for breakfast! The home tour was great, our favorite house was probably the owner of Signed, Sealed and Delivered. Her decor was beautiful! I always like to get ideas for decorating from the houses on the tour. This year, I liked the wreath snowman on a door (pic below). I may try that next year on our back door. :)

Trade desk Christmas party!

This past Saturday, I hosted the trade desk Christmas party! It is our yearly tradition to do a Mexican food potluck, Dirty Santa gift exchange and rock out with Guitar Hero!
Pictured above is the trade desk members but we missed Stephanie, Paul and Ty!

After lots of yummy food, we did our Dirty Santa gift exchange. It is always fun to see what people bring and what gets stolen a lot. We had a couple Razorback Snuggies, some ShamWows, gift cards, games, etc. but one of the funniest gifts is what Rachel brings. It usually consists of a picture of Jamie looking silly or doing something silly presented in a unique form.
Jamie has appeared on a pillow, a deck of cards, a stocking and now this year...

Candace opened the Jamie puzzle...a pic of him from his high school band years. Nice hair Jamie. ;)


Rachel got a Razorback Snuggie so we posed together in our Snuggies! Snuggies rule! Ha!

After some Guitar Hero, Trent, Jamie, Dwight and Jenn did some Super Mario Brothers...all at once. Seeing them all bounce around on the screen together trying not to die was hilarious!
It was SO fun! Thanks again to everyone for coming and can't wait to do it again next year!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This past weekend, we worked hard putting up all of our Christmas decorations! Jim does the outside lights and they look great! (a picture later to come)

Christian went with me to get our tree and he was so excited to help me decorate it! Pictures though don't do it justice...it is so pretty lit up at night!


The boys even have their own little trees in their rooms.

Christian has a Razorback tree that he is very proud of!

For Christmas, I wanted a nativity for our dining room table. Jim had to give it to me a little early so I could put it out! ;)

Notice baby Jesus is not in the manger yet...but he will be on Christmas! It is a great way to teach Christian about Christmas being a celebration when Jesus was born.

Here is our mantle in the upstairs living room. I have a little WMT Supercenter (for Jim since he works for Wal-Mart) and a bank (for me since I work for ARVEST). I think it is cute.

This is the first year we have had four stockings! I love them!

Christian is really excited about Christmas this year and is marking off the days on our Christmas calendar each morning! We have lots of holiday activities planned over the next few weeks! I love this time of year!
